Herman Miller introduced the Eames Aluminium Group in 1958 as Charles and Ray Eames’ response to the need for high-quality indoor-outdoor furniture. It soon moved inside exclusively. In 2008, Herman Miller celebrated the chair that 50 years ago came in from the cold. This design remains a classic of style and comfort.

Upholstered in traditional fabric or leather and ribbed at 47mm intervals for a clean, refined appearance, the chairs’ clean trim lines make them appropriate for all kinds of places, from contemporary homes to elegant offices.

A continuous piece of seat-back upholstery is stretched tautly between aluminium side ribs, creating a firm and flexible sitting pocket that subtly conforms to the body’s shape.

With one-piece, curved aluminium side ribs and an aluminium base, the chair is strong, yet lightweight and easy to move.
