EAMES ALUMINIUM GROUP                       Product

Herman Miller introduced the Eames Aluminium Group in 1958 as Charles and Ray Eames' response to the need for high-quality indoor-outdoor furniture. It soon moved inside exclusively. In 2008, Herman Miller celebrated the chair that 50 years ago came in from the cold. Available in management, side, executive, and lounge models (and the plush-cushioned Soft Pad version introduced in 1969), this design remains a classic of style and comfort.

Distinctive Aesthetic

Unmistakable look: Aluminium Group, also upholstered in traditional fabric or leather, is ribbed at 47mm intervals for a clean, refined appearance; the Cygnus mesh option has a lighter-scaled, translucent quality; Soft Pad cushions add a plush, luxurious touch.

Classic and contemporary: The chairs' clean, trim lines make them appropriate for all kinds of places, from contemporary homes to elegant offices.

Inventive Comfort Unique Suspension. A continuous piece of seat-back upholstery is stretched tautly between aluminium side ribs, creating a firm and flexible sitting pocket that subtly conforms to the body's shape.

Sitting Comfort. Aluminium Group seat pads have layered construction with fabric or leather upholstery; Soft Pad models add 50mm thick foam cushions for comfort and a different look.

Cygnus Mesh Material. This self-contouring, flexing material is available on Aluminium Group chairs to provide aeration, even weight distribution, and long-term comfort; Cygnus was specifically designed for Eames Aluminium Group as an elegant option.

Durability Strong Aluminium. With one-piece, curved aluminium side ribs and an aluminium base, the chair is strong, yet lightweight and easy to move.
